Why others choose St. Joseph’s/Candler.

"I wanted to let you know your staff was excellent in their manner of talking with my wife and I and in the care they extended me.

Sunday evening at around 10:30 pm my chest started hurting on the right side, did not think much of it at the time until the pain shifted down my right arm and I knew I needed help. I woke my wife up and told her that she needed to get me to the hospital, I thought I was having a heart attack.

She called 911 and when the ambulance arrived asked where I wanted to go. I said St. Joseph’s Hospital. Being a security guard at the Landings I knew that was the place I needed to go.

After arriving, the staff in the emergency room were professional and swift at getting to the problem. Even though the pain had backed off some, I was told that Dr. Peters would do a catheterization to determine what the problem was.

While I was there the staff on the third floor extended every courtesy I could imagine. My wife stayed there with me until I returned from the Cath Lab and the doctor discussed with us what the problem was and what he recommended.

However I just wanted to let you know your staff on all shifts were excellent in their manner of talking with my wife and I and in the care they extended me while there.

I could not be more appreciative. Everyone that entered the room was friendly, smiling and always asked if there was something else they could do for us.

My wife Mary mentioned that when she went down to breakfast one of the staff members got on the elevator with her and on the way down that person asked if there was anything she could do to help her.

Needless to say it impressed her. I know you hear when something goes wrong and that's a given. Seldom do you hear when things go right and this is one of those times.

Please let your staff on the 3rd floor know my feelings and how much their care meant to Mary and I.

Sincerely

Richard Daniels
